Sistemas Cognitivos

The technological progress in the fields of robotics, perception, artificial intelligence, computational power, mechatronics, and sensor systems allows for the first time the design and construction of truly intelligent systems that are able of reasoning, understanding, and learning through interaction with the physical and social environment. Truly intelligent cognitive systems will be able to operate in an autonomous way, to naturally interact with the world and humans. As done in this book, this requires coordinated and integrated research efforts of a wide range of disciplines such as robotics, biomechanics, complexity, neurosciences, as well as psychology. This monograph presents the main results of the International Conference on Cognitive Systems CogSys 2008 held at Karlsruhe, April 2008.
