Cravistas franceses do século 17

Pianist and harpsichordist Alexei Lubimov was born in 1944 in Moscow. He received musical training at the Central School of Music (A. Artobolevskaya's class) and at the Moscow Conservatoire (class of Professor H. Neuhaus and L. Naumov). In 1965 he won the first prize at the International Competition of Pianists in Rio de Janeiro and in 1968 he became laureate of the international competition in Montreal. His repertoire is made up of early music, works by J. S. Bach, Vienna masters, Brahms and also 20th century music ranging from Scriabin and Debussy to Schoenberg and Webern. Alexei Lubimov often performs early music on original keyboard instruments. An example of this is the present recording of French harpsichordists pieces, which was made at the Moscow Conservatoire, performed on a Zuckermann harpsichord, a replica of an A. Ruckers original (1645).
